MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -
Lt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department said skeletal remains were found on Tidewater Drive near Waccamaw Boulevard in Myrtle Beach Saturday around 12:40 p.m.
Horry County Coroner Robert Edge told WBTW Monday afternoon that the remains are those of a human.
Edge said that the remains would first be studied by an anthropologist and then will be sent to a university in Texas for DNA analysis.
Edge said that the University of Texas would be analyzing the DNA of the remains.
According to Lt. Kegler, it appears the remains have been there for several years.
Major Crime detectives are investigating.
