From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

Elizabeth Moss, 31, of Sumter was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office received information that Elizabeth Moss, who is a school teacher at Chestnut Oaks Middle School sent inappropriate messages to some of her students on Facebook. During the investigation investigators say they learned Moss had sexually assaulted one of the students between March and April of 2013 at her residence.

Wednesday a warrant was executed at Moss' residence and several items believed to be pertinent to this case were seized. At this time this case is still on-going and investigators believe there may be more victims.

Late Thursday afternoon, a fax was received by News13 from the Parham Law Firm, LLC.

The fax stated the following:

Elizabeth Moss' attorney, Rose Mary Parham, released the following statement, "These allegations arose after Beth disciplined some of her students at school.  She is innocent of all charges and looks forward to her day in court."
